Doug Jones Vice President
Doug Jones brings a depth and diversity of experience to his passion for real estate.
His education includes a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Vanderbilt University, and an M.B.A. from Washington University. He began his career as a Certified Public Accountant, working with KPMG’s tax and audit practice. Looking for more hands-on business experience, Doug joined a large, manufacturing firm, where he specialized in financial analysis, cost accounting and controllership.
Then he was recruited to an industrial real estate brokerage firm, where he completed all CCIM training and developed a computer analysis system for real estate. Doug became a successful broker, handling a wide variety of transactions while maintaining an emphasis on the manufacturing and investment niches. Later he developed computer-based analytical tools for urban office leasing and investment management. This led to a whole new approach for property management and leasing. Doug brought these techniques to his next position, where he built a new business in three states specializing in facilities management and workouts of troubled urban office buildings.
After revitalizing major properties, Doug joined a friend to develop land and commercial properties in the Chicago suburbs. After years of building properties, he liquidated the entire portfolio so he could join National Realty Network and focus on commercial transactions.
Doug is an officer on the board of the Michael Joseph Foundation, which provides transitional housing for agencies serving the homeless. He is the Chairman of the committee developing a management database for Chicago suburban homeless agencies. Doug also is a member of the Real Estate Advisory Board for Association House of Chicago.
